OATCRAFT KNOW-HOW
Homemade oat milk cost per litre and cup
A useful cost estimate shows its assumptions. OatCraft’s calculator keeps oat concentration, ingredient price, enzyme dose and pack size visible.
How the calculation works
Oat cost per litre is grams of oats per litre divided by 1,000, multiplied by the price per kilogram. Each enzyme cost is its trial dose in mL per litre multiplied by its pack price divided by pack volume. Add those values for ingredient cost per litre, then multiply by your cup or batch volume.
Compare dropper bottles and refills
Select 30 mL dropper bottles, 100 mL refills or 500 mL café refills. The builder uses current Shopify pack prices. A larger pack lowers the price per mL, but only compare packs you can use within the supplied storage and shelf-life guidance.
Keep dose and yield honest
The editable default dose is a trial assumption. It is not a promise of litres made from a bottle. Straining losses, finishing, oat material and formulation activity can change your actual yield and result. Record final beverage volume rather than assuming all added water becomes saleable drink.
What the estimate excludes
Ingredient cost is only part of your cost. Add energy, water, labour, filtration materials, cleaning, equipment, other ingredients, delivery and taxes where applicable. There is no fixed saving claim against supermarket or commercial barista drinks because recipes and comparison prices vary.
For a small café or restaurant
Set your batch volume and cup size to suit your service. Compare the recipe with the drink you currently buy using the same finished serving volume. The 500 mL refill is designed for repeat preparation; larger professional quantities can be discussed with Scientific and Technical.
